Train and transfer to Valdalens Mountain station

It is important to get the best start on your stay in Vålådalen. We want it to be easy to reach us and therefore we offer the following options:
Under high season we offer transfer from the train station in Undersåker to Vålådalens Fjällsation (day time). If you are a bigger group it is more economic to book transfer directly with any of the taxi companies listed below. Transfer has to be booked at least 2 days before arrival.

This year’s railway offer
This year it is getting easier to travel from southern Sweden to Vålådalen and Undersåker, as both of the companies Snälltåget and SJ offer night trains. Travel by train is not only good for the environment, but it also saves time. You can have dinner on the train, a good night’s sleep, and you wake up right in the village by the mountains ready for a day full of activities or a beautiful hike. 
 
”Snälltåget”
”Snälltåget” offers some extra night trains between Malmö – Stockholm – Storlien between 22 August and 29 September. The train has stops in Undersåker, Åre, Duved, Ånn, Enafors and Storlien. From Undersåker it is possible to book transfer to Vålådalen and Trillevallen, and from Enafors to Storulvån. 

On this train there is space for your bike or larger luggage. 

Departures from Malmö are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 16:40 (Stockholm 23:15) and arrival time in Åre is 07:45. The return trip south departs on Thursdays and Sundays at 16:15 from Åre.

When booking ”Snälltåget” you can book transfer to Vålådalen together with the train.

SJ 
From June 29 there are night trains from Stockholm to Åre/Duved every day. The train stops in Undersåker, the closest station for Vålådalen and southern Åre, next stop is in Åre and last stop is Duved, the closest station for Storulvån and Storlien. 

The train leaves Stockholm at 23:45 (possibility to go on board at 22:00) and arrive in Åre at 07:18. 

The returning train to Stockholm leaves daily at 21:51 from Åre and arrival time in Stockholm at 05:22 (you can stay in the train sleeping until 06:30).
